We had the entire house for 5 nights for our group of 12 adults and 3 infants. We housed 2 of the adults on a sofa and trundle bed. We arrived in the wee hours of the morning, and Carmen was kind enough to source some breakfast foods for us so that we would not need to get up so early in the morning. This was a big help! The pictures online do give a beautiful view of the character of the property, but we were not prepared for the amazing views all around the house, and for the multitude of delightful outdoor spaces. We came in early June, and the weather was pleasantly cool at night and warm/hot during the day. Throughout our stay we left doors open to allow breezes to flow through the house. This became a problem only when we did some cooking- you need to keep the doors shut when cooking, or it will attract flies. The kitchen is well equipped for a smaller group, but for 15 was a bit of a challenge. We found enough glasses by getting some from the smaller kitchen next door. We used the outdoor wood grill one evening. 2 evenings, we had dinner prepared by Paqui and Fabbio, and we highly recommend them for meals- it was fabulous! The drive on the dirt road up the mountain was an adventure in the dark the first night, but was well worth the effort and time, to gain the beautiful views of the countryside. Our family hiked at El Torcal national park one of our days, which we highly recommend, and we went to the downtown Malaga market in the morning- loads of fun. All in all, a first-rate, first-class property, and we highly recommend it.

Carmen was easy to deal with, and met us locally so she could show us the house. And what a house too - an amazing location right on top of the mountains, with views all around. Total peace and quiet and darkness, the perfect place to relax. A beautiful old converted winery, with many features retained. Loads of places to sit outside. the pool was smaller than it looked, fine for a dip to cool off. Luckily we had hired a 4 x 4, the road up is quite steep and spectacular indeed, but the views amazing.

We had a really nice time in Carmen’s house! The rooms and bathrooms were great, and also the view was absolutely stunning. What we initially didn’t know was that you have to ride up the mountain on a pretty sandy road for ±10 minutes. You must have a car to reach the house. We didn't know this in advance, luckily we did have a car, but it might be good to mention it here. Also the communication with Carmen was really good! We would definitely recommend this house 🙂

Such an amazing place... even the great pictures doesn't make it justice! I would go back any day. Carmen and her friend Eva were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are beautiful and the atmosphere is utterly relaxing, the only person we met was the shepherd passing with his sheep... (you can't believe you are just 30 minutes from downtown Malaga). The village below the hill (Casabermeja) is a 5 minutes drive and have some nice restaurants (one for meat and one for fish) and if you are into meat the local butcher shop would be worth a visit by its own. Just be prepared that the road to the house is a 2 km narrow dirt road climbing the hills – but we made it with our 2 wheel drive without problems.

The views from this place are just breathtaking. It's a 10-minute drive up a dirt road from the main street, which at first seems daunting, but you get used to it. We were three families with 6 adults and 6 children. The kids (ages 8 and up) all stayed in one side of the house and the adults in the other, which was very nice for the adults. Two of the kids' beds though were in the living room, so they usually woke up as soon as others in the house woke up. You need a car, but it is conveniently located to reach some interesting places. Besides Malaga we went to Narje, Ronda and Granada. Because it's up in the hills, it's cooler there than other places, which was a welcome respite from the August heat. Carmen is super responsive and helpful.

We spent a week here in August, and had a wonderful time. We are are group of ten (8 adults and 2 children). The villa is located in a breathtaking position on top of a hill with unforgettable sunsets every evening. A particular highlight for us was the cooking - with a fantastic bbq, and also outdoor wood oven (great for pizzas and slow roasts). The local butcher in casabermeja was also excellent (Carmen told us about him). Day trips to the Alhambra, Malaga and a waterpark for the kids were very easy from the location. The only thing - the road up to the villa is quite steep to say the least and we were grateful we had hire cars with reasonable engines!!!!

Beautiful house in a gorgeous setting. View is amazing with peace and quiet, only nature, the mountains and the stars at night. The house used to be a winery which means there are lots of features that are kept from its past. However the property is very modern and well equipped in terms of mod cons while absolutely stunning inside and outside. Everything we could think of was there and Carmen was great in answering any questions and looking after us when we arrived. There are lots of seating areas inside and outside the house, we cooked lovely dinners but could also go to Casabermeja, the local town to dine out. The bathrooms are beautiful and super clean, so is the whole house, we had no complaints at all about anything. You do need a car to drive up to the house as it is on a top of a hill with a steep drive but it is a short drive to Malaga or to the airport form the property. Carmen is lovely and very attentive and the property is amazing, we would all highly recommend the house and her! Thank you so so much, we had a lovely time!

Vi boede 10 mand, 3 generationer i dette hus i påsken som startede temmelig kold. Huset er fantastisk, og lever helt op til beskrivelserne. Det er indrettet smagfuldt og med kvalitets udstyr. Omgivelserne er ubeskrivelig smukke, terrasserne, som der er mange af, er smukt beplantet og giver mulighed for alle slags ophold. Der er tænkt på mange detaljer( vaskepulver, legetøj,køkkengrej, brænde mm) Der er centralvarme, men de første dage var vi afhængig af pejserne for at varme huset op. Vi benyttede Carmens kokke til en festmiddag: det fungerede perfekt, maden var særdeles velsmagende og prisen var billig. Alle 3 generationer har nydt opholdet med både plads fællesskab og privatliv.

English: We had a wonderful stay in Casabermeja. The house is perfect for family reunions and the views are spectacular. Mª Carmen was a great host and we had great interactions with her. We had day trips to Malaga, Nerja and Granada during our stay and used the grill and the wood oven almost every day. Spanish: Fantástica casa, estuvimos una semana maravillosa en familia. Las dos casas son perfectas para pasar tiempo juntos y con suficiente espacio para todos. Los dueños han hecho un trabajo extraordinario en restauración y decoración de este maravilloso lugar, con paisajes impresionantes. Nos sentimos todo el tiempo en casa. Disfrutamos de cada sitio y vistas que ofrecen esta hermosa propiedad. Felicitamos a los dueños por el buen gusto y la maravillosa hospitalidad a nuestra llegada y durante nuestra estadía. Estamos seguros de volver acá en el futuro. Los cuartos son hermosamente decorados y muy cómodos. Las zonas sociales y de jardines son espectaculares. We stayed at Lagar Los Pilones for a week in July with 10 family members (2 kids and 1 baby included) and had the BEST time. It was a magical vacation where we had plenty of space and privacy in the heart of southern Spain. Easy access to Malaga, Granada, Costa del Sol. We went scuba diving, saw the Alhambra and a flamenco show, enjoyed great shopping in Malaga and wish we had 1-2 more weeks to do everything on our wish list. Above all, Carmen was the BEST host. Gave great recommendations, even lined up a professional photographer so we could do a family photo shoot in the beautiful grounds. If we were to come again, we might choose spring or fall so it’s not as hot. But the pool water stayed cool the whole week and we lounged in the water to cool off often. We also had Paqui the chef to bring 2 private meals to the house and that was a treat. You must speak Spanish or use an online translator to coordinate dishes and times- but she was very affordable, made amazing food, and service.

The house was amazing, in such a beautiful setting. Carmen was a fantastic host and really went out of her way to provide loads of information ahead of our stay and to then be on hand during our trip. Can't wait to return.

We 11 friends have stayed in Carmen place for one week, We have enjoyed our stay , it was great that every room has separete bathroom, we had two houses so every one get the place. We enjoyed the spanish style house, and we have spend time every day in pool. One dinner we ordered home made dinner that pagui made it, really good paella. Even She helped us to buy birthday cake. We had a issue with water for some hours, but carmen helped us quickly. If you are fine with staying far from the city and living in mountain it is a good place for vacation. You have 10 minutes driving in mountain to the nearset access for shopinng, throw away trash. But it worked for us . We had three cars that shared the shopping. Thanks carmen for your great hospitality 😍

Splendid time we had in Carmen's place, and wonderful memories. The villa sat on top of a hill and take a 10 min drive from the bottom to the villa. The place was super clean and the setting and pool was very nicely done. Fully equipped with everything you need. The water was bit cold to use the swimming pool. Carmen was super nice and made everything simple and easy. There is a hiking pathway to the villa but unfortunately it was poorly marked. Supermarkets were 15 min drive from the place. A surprise visitor ( a wolf) comes to the front door every night to get some food, that added a bit of action to the night. Make sure not to forget the keys to the chains at the bottom of the hill when you drive out.

Excellent séjour en famille (10 personnes) maison accueillante avec une âme, panorama exceptionnel.calme repos et quiétude des lieux .Excellent départ pour visiter l'Andalousie ou rester au calme dans ce nid d aigle. Surtout vous apprécierez l'accueil de Mme Carmen, sa gentillesse. N’hésitez surtout pas à lui demander conseil sur le choix d'un jambon ibérico de belota,d'un queso de cabra. MERCI MME CARMEN

Amazing place and host! Our whole familiy really enjoyed our stay. Carmen gave us great local tips and was very hospitable. We even had a big basket of oranges and Andalusian cookies when we arrived. The rustic feel was great and cosy. The rooms were beautifully furnished. The views from the villa are breathtaking! A few small things we see that could be improved are the matresses (the beds are quite hard and not so comfortable to our taste) and the kitchen tools (no toaster, pots and pans should be replaced). We made a three generation family tour to Carmen Place, and we all had a great time in peacefull, beatyfull and privat sourandings. Everything was just above our expectations. We hope to come back some day. This is the Place for good memories.

Carmen was a fantastic host! Upon arrival Carmen and her friend Eva greeted us and showed us around the beautiful property up on the top of the hill. Hand picked flowers from the garden and placed in all the rooms was a very nice touch also! Although quite a long drive up to the house, the views are simply stunning and makes for a very beautiful remote getaway. Clean and fresh, the property was comfortable and relaxing. The local town of Casabermeja is full of welcoming and friendly locals. Our experience was an interesting one as we arrived during a time of a freak storm which made things a bit tricky. But because of Carmen we were able to solve any issues we had and she was so kind to be in contact during the entire stay. We had a big group of people and we demanded a lot from Carmen and she went well and beyond what she needed to in order to make our stay as good as possible. We highly recommend Carmen and wish to return again one day when the sun will shine again! Thank you Carmen for everything!
