Carmen was easy to deal with, and met us locally so she could show us the house. And what a house too - an amazing location right on top of the mountains, with views all around. Total peace and quiet and darkness, the perfect place to relax. A beautiful old converted winery, with many features retained. Loads of places to sit outside. the pool was smaller than it looked, fine for a dip to cool off. Luckily we had hired a 4 x 4, the road up is quite steep and spectacular indeed, but the views amazing.

Staying at Carmen's place was a perfect choice! We traveled as a family of 7 people and had the best time. First of all the view is spectacular and the house is very beautiful and unique (It used to be a place to make wine). The way up to the house was no problem at all. The surrounding is amazing, natural and peaceful. The house is spacious and well equipped, with many beautiful resting spots, just like in the pictures. Carmen was available and helped us with everything we needed during and after the stay. Paqui was also wonderful, she works in the house and arranged everything we needed- cooking, cleaning, buying groceries.. and everything with a smile. Can't wait for the next time!

Awesome and peaceful location, large and comfortable house, keep in mind the winding path over last 2-3 km requiring good ground clearance on your car (no need for 4 wheel drive car although better). Outstanding customer orientation from Mrs Carmen. Highly recommended.

This is an amazing place if you want to get away from the usual tourist experience. It is quite isolated but the house and the views ensure you completely relax. Carmen is a wonderful host. She is caring and helpful but not intrusive. The house is beautiful and has so many different places for eating and chilling that you can find your own space if you want it. Ideal for a big family or a group of friends who want to get away from it all.

We spent a week here in August, and had a wonderful time. We are are group of ten (8 adults and 2 children). The villa is located in a breathtaking position on top of a hill with unforgettable sunsets every evening. A particular highlight for us was the cooking - with a fantastic bbq, and also outdoor wood oven (great for pizzas and slow roasts). The local butcher in casabermeja was also excellent (Carmen told us about him). Day trips to the Alhambra, Malaga and a waterpark for the kids were very easy from the location. The only thing - the road up to the villa is quite steep to say the least and we were grateful we had hire cars with reasonable engines!!!!

Carmen helped us through the arrival, and was helpfull, patient and on time. It made us feel very safe.

Wij hebben het hier zalig gehad. Lagar los Pilones is werkelijk een schitterend vakantiehuis. Dit is een geweldig huisje: zeer verzorgd interieur, met aandacht ingericht, is schoon en heeft een prachtig uitzicht van 360 graden. De bedden zijn perfect, de badkamers ruim en praktisch, overal zijn horren voor de ramen zodat je heerlijk met de ramen open kunt slapen. Bedden opgemaakt, handdoeken in de badkamers. De ligging is idyllisch, het avontuur begint al met de weg ernaartoe. Laatste 1,5 km over een onverharde bergweg, ondanks dat deze onverhard is, is deze prima te berijden, zelfs met een kleine huurauto! Eenmaal boven weet je niet wat je ziet, wat een huis en wat een uitzicht! De enige wezens in de omgeving waren geiten, een balkende ezel, een kraaiende haan en rondvliegende zwaluwtjes. Het zwembad (veilig omheind voor kinderen) ligt heerlijk in de zon, en het overdekte terras met ligbedden biedt een welkome verkoeling onder de warme Spaanse zon. Het huis ligt in de driehoek Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, waardoor een uitstekende uitvalbasis voor het ontdekken van Andalusie. Ligt 10 minuten rijden van dorpje(Casabermeja) met verscheidene spaanse restaurantjes. Malaga slechts op 25 min met de auto. Eigenaars zeer vriendelijk: onze aankomst was vertraagd door vertraging vliegtuig, en zij hadden daarom brood, melk, fruit ed voor ons gekocht omdat bij onze aankomst de winkels gesloten waren Een absolute aanrader en we gaan zeker nog eens terug! Wonderful and spacey house with fantastic views. We were a group of 10 adults and 3 toddlers and there was enough space for all of us. The pool is secured by a lock: as is the parents fear of having your child drowned. You should be aware of quite a few steps in the house: your baby will be a master handling them after some days. Three of the bedrooms are very spacey so you can have a babybed within with no problem. Carmen provided us three babybeds with linens and two high chairs as asked (thanks again!). The garden and terraces are very nice too. We had a lot of stone oven pizzas and barbecue. We also had a wonderful Offroad-experience getting up and down the hill with our Fiat Panda. Carmen is very helpful and answered our questions right away. We had a wonderful time and can recommend the house without hesitation! Thank you Carmen!

We stayed at Lagar Los Pilones for a week in July with 10 family members (2 kids and 1 baby included) and had the BEST time. It was a magical vacation where we had plenty of space and privacy in the heart of southern Spain. Easy access to Malaga, Granada, Costa del Sol. We went scuba diving, saw the Alhambra and a flamenco show, enjoyed great shopping in Malaga and wish we had 1-2 more weeks to do everything on our wish list. Above all, Carmen was the BEST host. Gave great recommendations, even lined up a professional photographer so we could do a family photo shoot in the beautiful grounds. If we were to come again, we might choose spring or fall so it’s not as hot. But the pool water stayed cool the whole week and we lounged in the water to cool off often. We also had Paqui the chef to bring 2 private meals to the house and that was a treat. You must speak Spanish or use an online translator to coordinate dishes and times- but she was very affordable, made amazing food, and service.

Such an amazing place... even the great pictures doesn't make it justice! I would go back any day. Carmen and her friend Eva were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are beautiful and the atmosphere is utterly relaxing, the only person we met was the shepherd passing with his sheep... (you can't believe you are just 30 minutes from downtown Malaga). The village below the hill (Casabermeja) is a 5 minutes drive and have some nice restaurants (one for meat and one for fish) and if you are into meat the local butcher shop would be worth a visit by its own. Just be prepared that the road to the house is a 2 km narrow dirt road climbing the hills – but we made it with our 2 wheel drive without problems.

The house used to be a winery which means there are lots of features that are kept from its past. However the property is very modern and well equipped in terms of mod cons while absolutely stunning inside and outside. Everything we could think of was there and Carmen was great in answering any questions and looking after us when we arrived. There are lots of seating areas inside and outside the house, we cooked lovely dinners but could also go to Casabermeja, the local town to dine out. The bathrooms are beautiful and super clean, so is the whole house, we had no complaints at all about anything. You do need a car to drive up to the house as it is on a top of a hill with a steep drive but it is a short drive to Malaga or to the airport form the property. Carmen is lovely and very attentive and the property is amazing, we would all highly recommend the house and her! Thank you so so much, we had a lovely time!

Family holiday: 7 adults, 2 children and 2 baby's (18 months and 12 months) Very good communication with Carmen, who is the perfect Hostess! The 2 km 'off road' to the house, which was mentioned in the description of the house, was not so easy in the dark, but Carmen guided us to the house on our first day. The possibility to have the fridge filled and also have a 'meal' when you arrive (you just pay afterwards) is a very nice service, especially if you arrive late with kids. For kids: a lot of toys etc are available - babybeds/plates/cups etc. Good accommodation - towel/linen available Also Wifi Different places to sit and have a marvelous view on the mountains. Good distance to Malaga and other places. We will come back 🙂

This place is magical. Yes, there is a gravel road to get up the hill, but still it is doable with fiat 500 or other small rental car. Kitchen is well equipped, additionally you can do BBQ and even bake pizza outside. It is calm but still not far from supermarkets, petrol station, restaurants etc (15-20 min car ride). Even with 10 people it is enough space to find calm places in and around the house. Highly recommended.

The house is comfortable and my family and I enjoyed our stay. Carmen is very responsive and offered great tips and ideas for our stay in the area. The drive up the hills to the house is the only draw back; the dirt road is very steep and narrow on a cliff without railings or lights (which may be common for a farmhouse in the area).
