Thank you for a wonderful stay! I would recommend this place in an instant. We spent easter here, a family of three generations, and it was beyond our expectations. WOOW was the first thing we said as we walked into the property. The pictures are beautiful, but it is even more magnificent in real life. The scenery, the house, the sunset, the view, the pool, the beautiful and well-kept interior… And Carmen was such a pleasant and caring host. Had an amazing stay. The house is on a secluded hilltop but close to amenities and an easy drive to the coast. It's beautiful and well kept. Carmen is an amazing host and you cam see she loves the house

Huset er et vidunderligt hus på toppen af en smuk, smuk bakke i højderne omkring Malaga. Vi og vores familie havde et skønt ophold, hvor vi nød både hus, udsigt og området omkring huset - ikke mindst gåturene på det utrolige område og besøgene til hulemalerierne (!). Vi savner allerede huset, luften og selvfølgelig at være omgivet af vores store familie i de trygge omgivelser - vi ønsker os allerede tilbage til huset ved Casabermeja.

Amazing place and amazing host

Wij hebben het hier zalig gehad. Lagar los Pilones is werkelijk een schitterend vakantiehuis. Dit is een geweldig huisje: zeer verzorgd interieur, met aandacht ingericht, is schoon en heeft een prachtig uitzicht van 360 graden. De bedden zijn perfect, de badkamers ruim en praktisch, overal zijn horren voor de ramen zodat je heerlijk met de ramen open kunt slapen. Bedden opgemaakt, handdoeken in de badkamers. De ligging is idyllisch, het avontuur begint al met de weg ernaartoe. Laatste 1,5 km over een onverharde bergweg, ondanks dat deze onverhard is, is deze prima te berijden, zelfs met een kleine huurauto! Eenmaal boven weet je niet wat je ziet, wat een huis en wat een uitzicht! De enige wezens in de omgeving waren geiten, een balkende ezel, een kraaiende haan en rondvliegende zwaluwtjes. Het zwembad (veilig omheind voor kinderen) ligt heerlijk in de zon, en het overdekte terras met ligbedden biedt een welkome verkoeling onder de warme Spaanse zon. Het huis ligt in de driehoek Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, waardoor een uitstekende uitvalbasis voor het ontdekken van Andalusie. Ligt 10 minuten rijden van dorpje(Casabermeja) met verscheidene spaanse restaurantjes. Malaga slechts op 25 min met de auto. Eigenaars zeer vriendelijk: onze aankomst was vertraagd door vertraging vliegtuig, en zij hadden daarom brood, melk, fruit ed voor ons gekocht omdat bij onze aankomst de winkels gesloten waren Een absolute aanrader en we gaan zeker nog eens terug! We stayed at Lagar Los Pilones for a week in July with 10 family members (2 kids and 1 baby included) and had the BEST time. It was a magical vacation where we had plenty of space and privacy in the heart of southern Spain. Easy access to Malaga, Granada, Costa del Sol. We went scuba diving, saw the Alhambra and a flamenco show, enjoyed great shopping in Malaga and wish we had 1-2 more weeks to do everything on our wish list. Above all, Carmen was the BEST host. Gave great recommendations, even lined up a professional photographer so we could do a family photo shoot in the beautiful grounds. If we were to come again, we might choose spring or fall so it’s not as hot. But the pool water stayed cool the whole week and we lounged in the water to cool off often. We also had Paqui the chef to bring 2 private meals to the house and that was a treat. You must speak Spanish or use an online translator to coordinate dishes and times- but she was very affordable, made amazing food, and service.

Carmen was a wonderful host, and her family's property in Spain is beautiful. You should know that to get to the villa, you drive for about 10 minutes up a mountain on a gravel road. Its a bit of an adventure, but that was part of what we loved about it. Once you get there you are staying in a historical villa in the mountains. It has modern amenities like AC and a pool, but the feel is rustic and authentic. It was very comfortable for two families of 4. The kids loved it as much as the adults. Takes about 30 minutes to drive to Malaga. A great experience.

Carmen's villa was amazing. The property and views were simply outstanding. There are lots of different outdoors areas and terraces so everyone can have their own space. The kitchen was well stocked so cooking for a large group was easy. The ensuite bathrooms are very nice when travelling with friends and couples. We kept the fireplace going every night. The drive up to the property is easier in a more robust car/SUV. We really enjoyed the local herder with his sheep and goats! We would love to come back in the Spring/Summer so that we can enjoy the pool. Carmen was very friendly and available when we needed her.

Amazing place and host! Our whole familiy really enjoyed our stay. Carmen gave us great local tips and was very hospitable. We even had a big basket of oranges and Andalusian cookies when we arrived. The rustic feel was great and cosy. The rooms were beautifully furnished. The views from the villa are breathtaking! A few small things we see that could be improved are the matresses (the beds are quite hard and not so comfortable to our taste) and the kitchen tools (no toaster, pots and pans should be replaced). We LOVED our stay @ Carmens Villa! The views are unreal & go on n on for miles! It's away from everything, but only about 7-10 minute drive to the market, gas, butcher & the local Pueblo there in town, & about a 30-45 minute drive to all the amazing beaches in the area! Carmen met us in town & showed us the market, & waited for us to pick up a few things (although she had a few things there for us already too:) & then had us follow her up to the villa, which was great since it'd be a bit tricky to find on our own. Carmen had fresh flowers that smelled SO sweet in each of the bedrooms, showed us all that we needed to know & gave us a brief history on her familys renovated winery (so cool:) The wifi was way fast! & we always had hot water for our showers, which was great! The beds, linens & towels were first class, & the furnishing & decor were true to the style of home. One of the best rooms in the villa is the covered pergola full of grapevines, it was so nice eating outside & enjoying the views & the breeze (it gets chilly @ night) Carmen also has several cozy nooks through out the property, each w/a different view of the countryside, it was so fun finding them & relaxing for a bit. I can't say enough good about staying here & about the hostess, she was wonderful & so was our stay!

Wonderful place, very quiet and relax. We stayed here with the whole family (8 adults and 2 kids). The road to the house is steep, but good to reach by car. The house has a lot of beautiful old characteristic features. It is located on a hill overlooking the beautiful scenery. The house is separated in two houses and offers five (two person) bedrooms, all with their own bathroom with a bath. Is was very tidy and clean. The outside of the house provides a large garden with swimming pool. The pool is clean, and provides 6 beds for sunbathing. There is a trampoline for the kids in the garden. There are about 9 places around the house where they have some nice areas to sit. Next to the house, there is a large dining table outside. On the other side of the house is a BBQ and an outside pizza oven. Carmen showed us the way to the house and explained everything (in Spanish). She was kind and helpful and stayed in contact during the week through whatsapp. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house.

Carmens house was the perfect place as we all had our separate rooms and bathrooms and privacy. The view is breathtaking. It is very good that there is a pool as the house is not close to the sea. However, the house is a reallly good base for seeing Andalusia. You need one or several cars as is it quite isolated. We enjoyed our stay and the house was clean and well equipped. Carmen was helpful and friendly. I would recommend staying at Carmens place to my friends and family.

Een prachtig onderkomen op een schitterende plek met mooie uizichten rondom. Veel mogelijkheden voor kinderen binnen en buiten. Gastvrouw heel behulpzaam bij bijvoorbeeld organiseren van fotoshoot en diners ter plaatse

We were extremely happy with the place. There were nine grownups and one baby in a group and a solution with two houses gave us sufficent flexibility around baby's sleeping hours. The views are magnificent and there are plenty of sitting areas around the house to enjoy the sunrise or the sunset. The access is a bit difficult, 2 km uphill driving but we used it for running practice. 🙂

Hôte extraordinaire! Adorable, prévenante, beaucoup à l’écoute et reste en contact avec nous pendant le séjour pour conseiller des restaurants typiques, dans les différentes villes que l’on visite. Vraiment super agréable d’avoir une personne de contact gentille, et fort à l’écoute.

What can I say about this holiday. My family are 14 from age’s 1 being the grandchild to age 64 went on holiday to Carmen’s property. The only word that I can describe it would be idyllic. From start to finish Cameron was just excellent. The views were to die for. The property was everything that all the other reviews have said and more. Just perfect. The children and grandchildren and grandparents loved the experience, the pool, the grounds, the house and the Tranquility. Carmen will help you with everything you need from start to finish. Be a little careful with the last 10 minutes of the drive up but other than that there’s plenty more to say but I think I could go on all night if I spoke about the overall brilliant experience. One thing I would say, we hired cars at the airport and our flight was supposed to arrive midday but was changed to arrive at midnight. Carmen arranged a local taxi to meet us at the airport so that we could follow him to the house. Obviously we paid for the service but for the first time to go there we thought it was best not to be trying to find it at night. Money very well spent I would suggest to anyone..
